The essential difference between both is the presence of radiologists on site. In conventional radiology practice, the radiologist is present physically at the site of imaging, whereas in teleradiology, the images are interpreted remotely by a radiologist who is not present at the site where the images are generated. Teleradiology improves patient care by allowing radiologists to provide services without actually having to be present at the location of the patient. This is most helpful in the emergency setting or when there is no radiologist present at the hospital/center covering all working hours. This is also important when a subspecialty radiologist such as a musculoskeletal radiologist or neuroradiologist is needed. Teleradiology helps here by allowing for trained specialists to be available anywhere, at anytime. While our radiologists are not present on site in teleradiology, the level of communication will still remain high between our radiologist and the referring hospital/center. Even though we may be thousands of miles away, our radiologists will communicate by regular phone or IP telephony with the physicians at the referring hospitals to communicate critical results immediately.
Our team of highly specialized and highly certified radiologists will report the images. Double readings are made to ensure the highest quality of the final report. We have dedicated help desk personnel and coordinators who handle the incoming requests and patient tickets to ensure the studies are reported promptly, revised and finalized within the agreed time frames.
